On 27 September, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Zoran Zaev, guested in the Municipality of Tetovo. The executive director of RDDA SONCE Tetovo, Mr. Ferdi Ismaili gave him a civic initiative with signatures of 52 families from the Municipality of Veles and 317 families from the Municipality of Strumica. The Civil Initiative itself is a product of the ROMACTED program interventions in the Republic of Macedonia.
Also, as part of the EU-funded project “From Action to Equal Rights for Roma”, implemented by RDDA Sonce in partnership with Minority Rights Group-London, Ismaili personally shared a policy brief developed by the Advocacy Network for Roma Rights in which there are 30 domestic/ international organizations, foundations and 12 local mediators.

On October 19th, FUEN, as one of the strongest organizations representing the rights of minorities in Europe, sent an open letter to the Prime Minister and to all national and local institutions in the Republic of Macedonia. The letter was addressed in support of ADRR SONCE as a member of FUEN regarding the initiated process for representing the collective interests of the Roma in the Republic of Macedonia. 20181019_Open letter – FUEN
ADRR SONCE will continue to represent the collective interests of the Roma in the Republic of Macedonia. In the process itself, SONCE also expects support from Roma leaders as bearers of public functions as well as Roma representatives in international organizations and foundations.
