Community-Based Green Action: Call for Project Proposals for CSOs in Pelagonia Region

Civil society organisations with a registered office in any municipality of the Pelagonia Region are invited to apply for the “Community-Based Green Action” sub-grant scheme, implemented by CELIM and SONCE within the EU-funded project “Civil Society in Action for environment protection and sustainable urban development” (IPAIII2024453-343). The total available budget is 87,000 EUR, with grants of up to 14,500 EUR per project, fully covering eligible costs for initiatives lasting from 6 to 8 months.

What this call supports

The programme supports local CSOs that want to implement concrete green actions in Pelagonia, including environmental protection, climate change mitigation and adaptation, circular economy, sustainable urban development, and creation or improvement of green public spaces. Eligible activities include awareness campaigns, community clean-up and requalification of public or natural areas, advocacy and watchdog work on environmental policies, cooperation on circular economy, and actions that actively involve citizens, especially marginalized groups such as Roma communities and informal waste collectors.

Who can apply

Eligible applicants are non-profit civil society organisations established for at least one year, registered and operating in the Pelagonia Region, and directly responsible for preparing and managing the proposed action. Each project must include at least one public institution (for example a municipality, regional development centre, ministry, or other relevant public body) as a partner, formalised through a letter of support.

Key deadlines and how to apply

The call is open from 15 December 2025, and the deadline for submitting project proposals is 15 February 2026 at 16:30. Applications must be prepared using the official Application Form (Annex 1) in Macedonian and submitted by e-mail to [email protected] with CC to [email protected], with the subject “Community-Based Green Action sub-grant scheme A2.1”.
